Our Mabrouka Ghazella olive field has nestled amidst the countryside, within the fertile plains of Mateur. It remains hidden among a multitude of lush green hills dedicated to mixed farming, bordered by small agricultural holdings.
Our young Chétoui olive trees radiate in this dazzling greenery, not far from Oued el Melah, Douar Ejmiaat, and the Boujrir village. These rural landscapes are steeped in agricultural activity, and their sparsely built structures harmonize with the surrounding nature.Nos jeunes oliviers Chétoui rayonnent dans une verdure éblouissante, pas loin de Oued el Melah, Douar Ejmia3t et le bourg de Boujrir.
Rurality, with its myriad local facets, holds assets to recognize and appreciate. It evolves both around metropolises and in areas farther from major urban centers. The diversity of these rural territories and olive oil flavors deserve exploration and admiration.
Boujrir is a rural village that has about 2,000 inhabitants. It is part of the delegation of Ghézala, which is an administrative subdivision of the governorate of Bizerte. The governorate of Bizerte is the northernmost of the 24 governorates of Tunisia. It is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the north and east.
Tunisia is a North African country that has a rich and diverse history. It was the cradle of the Carthaginian civilization, which dominated the Mediterranean basin for centuries. It then experienced several invasions and occupations, notably by the Vandals, the Byzantines, the Arabs, the Ottomans, the French and the Italians. It gained independence in 1956 and became a republic in 1957.
Tunisia is a country distinguished by its olive cultivation, being the world’s leading producer and exporter of organic olive oil. It has over 98 million olive trees, covering 30% of its agricultural land. The national annual average production of olive oil is estimated at 220,000 tons. Olive cultivation is a principal pillar of Tunisian agriculture, providing 30 to 40 million workdays per year, especially through the manual picking of olives. Olive cultivation also contributes to regional development, social stability, and environmental protection by combating soil erosion and desertification.
The May family has owned Chétoui olive fields since the 1930s and has been providing the entire Boujrir region with an exceptional robust and fruity olive oil since

Our Chétoui is a variety that produces a very fruity oil with a dominance of cut grass. Moreover, the oil of the Chétoui variety is characterized by a high content of oleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid beneficial for cardiovascular health. It is also rich in aromas and antioxidants, which gives it good stability and a long shelf life. It has a bitterness and a pungency intense, which gives it character and taste.
